Using Content Sharing is as simple as 123.
- Create content using supported DotNetNuke module.
- Assign Content Sharing security access
- Assign Content Sharing module to use
Assign Content Sharing Security Access
This step performs the required security assignment to allow content from which DotNetNuke core modules to be shared to other portals within the DotNetNuke instance. Thus it is required that the user needs to have SuperUser access in order to perform this step.
- Add an instance of the Content Sharing module to a portal page. The Content Sharing module needs to be of the same type as the DotNetNuke core module. For example, if the core DotNetnuke module is Text/HTML, then use the CS-NMHHTMLText module
- Click on the Sharing Security menu item (located from the module's menu)
- From the Sharing Secuirty Permissions screen
- Select an item from the From Portal property which contains the core DotNetNuke modules to be shared
- Select an item from the Assign to Portal to allow the core DotNetNuke module to share to
- Individually click on the Enable/Disable link button to grant/deny access to sharing content from each of the available From Portal modules
- Once completed, click Return to return to the main screen
Assign Content Sharing module to use
This step performs the mapping of the shared DotNetNuke module to the current module instance
- Add an instance of the Content Sharing module to a portal page. The Content Sharing module needs to be of the same type as the DotNetNuke core module. For example, if the core DotNetnuke module is Text/HTML, then use the CS-NMHHTMLText module
- Click on the Sharing Options menu item (located from the module's menu)
- From the Sharing Options screen
- Select an item from the From Portal property to which core DotNetNuke modules have been granted access to share
- Select an item from the Module Name property to select which module to be dislpayed in the current module
- Select an item from the optional Language property to use when displaying the shared module.
- Once completed, click Return to return to the main screen
